Key Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of signature dishes including patties, soups, stews, and other Jamaican specialties according to Juici Patties' strict standard recipes and detailed procedures.
- Ensure all food preparation, handling, and storage meets stringent health and safety regulations, as well as company hygiene and sanitation standards.
- Monitor food quality and freshness rigorously, implementing proper storage, rotation (FIFO), and waste minimization techniques.
- Operate and maintain all kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, conducting routine checks and promptly reporting any malfunctions or maintenance needs.
- Collaborate effectively and communicate clearly with kitchen staff and front-of-house team members to ensure smooth service flow and timely order fulfilment.
- Assist in diligent inventory management, including accurately receiving, thoroughly checking, and properly storing incoming deliveries.
- Maintain a consistently clean, organized, and sanitary workstation and overall kitchen area throughout all shifts.
- Adhere strictly to portion control guidelines and food cost management principles to support operational efficiency.
- Be able to work flexible shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as dictated by dynamic business needs.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 18 months) as a Cook in a high-volume restaurant or catering environment.
- Solid understanding and practical application of food safety and sanitation principles (HACCP knowledge is highly preferred).
- Ability to work efficiently, calmly, and effectively under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.
- Strong foundational knowledge of traditional Jamaican culinary techniques and authentic ingredients.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal teamwork skills.
- Acute attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to consistently high food quality.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items, and perform repetitive tasks.
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
