Job Description

Cliniques Universitaires de Kinshasa is seeking a committed Caregiver – Elderly Assistance to join our community support team in Gbadolite, Nord-Ubangi Province. This vital role involves providing direct, personalized care and companionship to elderly individuals within their homes or designated community care settings. Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as needed.
- Administer medication reminders and ensure timely adherence to prescribed schedules.
- Provide companionship and emotional support, engaging clients in conversation and stimulating activities.
- Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe living environment.
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and exercises as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
- Accompany clients to appointments, errands, or social outings.
- Observe and report any changes in the client's physical or mental condition to the appropriate supervisor.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and client progress.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety protocols and client care plans.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a caregiver or in a related support role (minimum 6 months).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in French and Lingala.
- Patience, empathy, and a compassionate attitude towards the elderly.
- Ability to perform light physical tasks and assist with client mobility.
- Reliable and punctual, with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Basic understanding of first aid and emergency procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in caregiving, nursing assistant, or a related field (e.g., Auxiliaire de vie).
- Experience working with individuals with specific health conditions (e.g., dementia, mobility impairments).
- Valid driving license and access to reliable transportation.
