Job Description

Hôpital Général de Référence d’Ilebo is actively seeking a dedicated Radiologist to join our growing Imaging Center team. As our Radiologist, you will be at the forefront of diagnostic imaging services, responsible for performing and interpreting a broad range of radiological examinations, including X-rays, ultrasounds, CT scans, and potentially other modalities as our capabilities expand. Your expertise will be critical in assisting our clinical teams across various departments—from emergency medicine and internal medicine to surgery and pediatrics—in accurately diagnosing and effectively treating patients. You will work within a dynamic hospital environment, collaborating closely with fellow physicians, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and integrated patient care.
We are looking for a professional who is not only clinically adept but also possesses strong communication skills to convey complex findings clearly and empathetically to both medical colleagues and patients. Key Responsibilities
- Perform and interpret a wide range of diagnostic imaging studies, including X-ray, Ultrasound, and CT scans.
- Provide accurate, timely, and comprehensive radiological reports to referring physicians.
- Consult with clinicians on appropriate imaging protocols and patient management.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss complex cases and contribute to treatment plans.
- Ensure the highest standards of patient safety, radiation protection, and imaging quality.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new imaging techniques and services.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
- Engage in continuous professional development and stay updated with advancements in radiology.
Required Skills
- Medical Doctor (MD) degree from a recognized institution.
- Board certification in Radiology or equivalent recognized specialist qualification.
- Proven experience in interpreting various imaging modalities (X-ray, Ultrasound, CT).
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to ethical medical practice and patient-centered care.
- Proficiency in French and/or local languages (e.g., Tshiluba) is highly advantageous.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fellowship training in a subspecialty of Radiology (e.g., musculoskeletal, neuroradiology, abdominal imaging).
- Experience working in a resource-limited setting or similar regional hospital.
- Familiarity with digital imaging systems (PACS) and hospital information systems (HIS).
- Ability to perform basic interventional radiological procedures.
- Experience in teaching or mentoring junior medical staff and students.
