Job Description
SANRU ASBL is seeking a dedicated and compassionate General Practice Doctor to join our dynamic healthcare team in Bandundu, Kwilu Province. This pivotal role involves providing comprehensive primary healthcare services to individuals and families within the local community, working collaboratively with other health professionals to ensure high-quality patient care. The successful candidate will be instrumental in delivering preventative, diagnostic, therapeutic, and rehabilitative medical services, addressing a wide range of health conditions. You will serve as the primary point of contact for patients, conducting thorough examinations, diagnosing illnesses, developing treatment plans, and making appropriate referrals to specialists when necessary. Beyond direct patient care, this role emphasizes community health engagement, including participating in health education programs, disease surveillance, and public health campaigns initiated by SANRU ASBL. You will be expected to maintain accurate and confidential patient records, adhering strictly to medical ethics and professional standards. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient consultations, examinations, and diagnostic assessments.
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including prescribing medication and recommending therapies.
- Provide preventative care, health education, and promotion of healthy lifestyles.
- Refer patients to specialists or other healthcare facilities as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date patient medical records.
- Participate in community health outreach programs and public health initiatives.
- Collaborate effectively with nurses, community health workers, and other medical staff.
- Adhere to all medical ethics, professional standards, and SANRU ASBL policies.
Required Skills
- Medical Doctor (MD) degree from a recognized institution.
- Valid medical license to practice in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
- Minimum of 2 years of post-qualification clinical experience, preferably in general practice.
- Excellent diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with empathy and cultural sensitivity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in French (oral and written).
- Commitment to humanitarian principles and public health service.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in rural or community health settings in the DRC.
- Proficiency in local languages such as Lingala or Kikongo.
- Previous experience with NGOs or public health programs.
- Basic knowledge of tropical diseases relevant to the region.
