Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable and general ledger entries.
- Reconcile various accounts, statements, and transactions to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Prepare and process invoices, expense reports, and other financial documents.
- Generate accurate financial reports and summaries for management review.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records, both physical and digital.
- Assist with budget preparation and monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with credit union policies, procedures, and relevant financial regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with team members through virtual communication tools and occasional in-person meetings.
- Perform other administrative and financial duties as assigned to support the finance department.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Finance Assistant, Accounting Assistant, or similar role (2+ years).
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and financial processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Oracle Financials) and MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, with a capacity for independent work.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential financial information.
