Job Description
De Rigg Place is actively seeking a highly motivated, adaptable, and customer-focused individual to join our vibrant team as a Part-Time Waitress and Hotel Attendant. This multifaceted role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic hospitality environment and possesses a genuine passion for delivering exceptional service. As a Waitress, you will be instrumental in enhancing our guests’ dining experiences, from warmly greeting them and taking orders to serving meals and ensuring the cleanliness and inviting ambiance of our dining areas. Beyond the dining room, you will also serve as a Hotel Attendant, supporting various operational needs across the premises. This includes assisting guests with inquiries, providing directions, helping with minor requests, and ensuring the overall smooth running of daily hotel activities. Key Responsibilities
- Warmly welcome and seat guests in the dining area, presenting menus and offering detailed explanations of daily specials and beverage options.
- Accurately take food and beverage orders, relaying them efficiently and clearly to the kitchen or bar staff.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and courteously, ensuring high standards of presentation and adherence to guest preferences.
- Proactively attend to guests' needs throughout their meal, anticipating requests and addressing any concerns with professionalism and efficiency.
- Process guest payments accurately, handling cash and card transactions responsibly and efficiently.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including tables, chairs, service stations, and cutlery.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of dining areas for various meal periods or special events, ensuring readiness for service.
- Support general hotel operations by assisting guests with luggage, providing directions, answering general inquiries, and ensuring common areas are tidy.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff, reception, housekeeping, and other hotel departments to ensure seamless and coordinated service delivery.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene standards in accordance with hotel policy and local regulations.
- Handle guest complaints or issues with tact, empathy, and discretion, escalating to management when necessary for swift resolution.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 6 months of proven experience in a waitressing, food service, or hotel attendant role, preferably within a reputable hospitality establishment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuinely friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor.
- Ability to work effectively and remain calm in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and guest requests simultaneously.
- Strong customer service orientation and an unwavering commitment to achieving and exceeding guest satisfaction.
- Basic numeracy skills for accurately handling cash, processing payments, and managing guest bills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as dictated by operational needs.

Preferred Qualifications
- OND/HND qualification in Hospitality Management, Catering & Hotel Management, or a closely related field.
- Previous experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems and electronic payment processing.
- Familiarity with various food and beverage types, ingredients, and preparation methods.
- Ability to speak multiple local languages (e.g., Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa) would be an added advantage for guest interaction.
