Job Description

Key Responsibilities
- Assist the classroom teacher in preparing and delivering engaging lesson plans and educational activities.
- Provide individualized and small group support to students, addressing their specific learning needs and challenges.
- Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive, orderly, and respectful learning environment.
- Prepare teaching materials, visual aids, and classroom displays to enhance learning experiences.
- Supervise students during classroom activities, recess, and other school events, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as grading papers, recording attendance, and organizing classroom resources.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other staff members regarding student progress and concerns.
- Support students with special educational needs, adapting activities as required under teacher guidance.
- Participate in school meetings, professional development, and training sessions as required.

- Basic knowledge of child development and learning principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications
- Associate Degree or Diploma in Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field
- Previous experience working as a teaching assistant or in a similar educational support role
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Familiarity with the Jamaican primary school curriculum
