As a Medical Records Clerk, you will be responsible for the accurate creation, retrieval, storage, and maintenance of both physical and electronic patient records. You will play a key role in ensuring that all patient information is consistently updated, correctly classified, and readily accessible to authorized medical personnel. Your daily tasks will involve precise data entry, systematic filing, responding to record requests, and assisting with internal audits to guarantee compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies. Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately create, organize, and maintain patient medical records, both electronic (EMR) and physical.
  • Ensure the timely and precise filing of all medical documents, test results, and correspondence.
  • Retrieve medical records for physicians and other authorized staff as requested, ensuring prompt availability.
  • Perform data entry of patient information, diagnoses, treatments, and other relevant medical details into the EMR system.
  • Safeguard patient confidentiality and comply strictly with all privacy regulations (e.g., local data protection laws).
  • Assist with internal and external audits of medical records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Manage the scanning and digitization of physical records into the electronic system.
  • Process requests for medical records from patients, insurance companies, and other healthcare providers, adhering to established procedures.
  • Maintain an organized and efficient filing system, including archiving older records.
  • Provide administrative support to medical staff as needed, related to patient data and records.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Medical Records Clerk or in a similar administrative role within a healthcare setting.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and healthcare procedures.
  • Competency in using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and general office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
