Job Description
First National Bank Alaska is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Analyst to join our dynamic team. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from your home base in Sitka, AK, while contributing to our statewide operations. As a Finance Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting the financial health and strategic decision-making of the bank. You will be responsible for conducting in-depth financial analysis, developing detailed reports, and assisting with critical budgeting and forecasting processes. Your insights will help leadership understand performance drivers, identify opportunities for efficiency, and mitigate risks. Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and profitability studies.
- Develop and maintain complex financial models to support forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning initiatives.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, presentations, and dashboards for senior management and key stakeholders.
- Assist in the annual budgeting process and periodic financial forecasts, collaborating with various departments.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable insights into financial performance.
- Identify and analyze financial risks and opportunities, providing recommendations for mitigation and optimization.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes by providing detailed financial data and analysis.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct ad-hoc financial projects and analyses as required by business needs.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a remote work setting.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in financial analysis or a similar role.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial functions).
- Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and corporate finance concepts.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a remote environment.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration (MBA), or a related field.
- CFA, CPA, or other relevant professional certifications.
- Experience with financial planning and analysis (FP&A) software (e.g., SAP BPC, Oracle Hyperion, Adaptive Insights).
- Experience in the banking or financial services industry.
- Proficiency with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Familiarity with SQL or other database query languages.
