Key Responsibilities

  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering meaningful connections.
  • Assist clients with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility, always respecting their dignity.
  • Help with light household duties, such as meal preparation, tidying, and laundry, to ensure a comfortable living environment.
  • Support clients with medication reminders and facilitate attendance at appointments.
  • Accompany clients on outings, errands, and social activities, promoting engagement and community involvement.
  • Maintain clear and accurate records of care provided, ensuring continuity and quality of service.
  • Communicate effectively and empathetically with clients, their families, and the wider care team.
  • Promote client independence and overall well-being, tailoring support to individual needs and preferences.

Required Skills

  • Genuine compassion, empathy, and a profoundly caring nature.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong, ethical work ethic.

  • Willingness to learn and commit to comprehensive initial and ongoing training.
  • A valid UK driving license and access to a reliable car is highly beneficial due to the nature of home care.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a care-related role or working with older adults (though not essential, as full training is provided).
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification).
  • Experience supporting individuals with dementia or other complex care needs.
