Your shift will begin as the store closes to the public, transforming the environment into a hive of activity focused on preparation for the next trading day. You’ll work alongside a dedicated team, receiving and processing incoming stock from our distribution centres. This involves carefully unloading goods, often heavy and bulky, from delivery vehicles using appropriate manual handling techniques and equipment. Following this, you’ll be responsible for meticulously checking quantities against delivery notes, identifying any discrepancies, and reporting them promptly.

Accuracy and attention to detail are paramount in this role. You will sort goods into designated areas, ensuring they are stored safely and efficiently. Part of your role will also involve replenishing shelves on the shop floor, ensuring products are correctly priced and rotated to minimise waste and maximise freshness. Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment in the stockroom and on the shop floor during your shift is a key responsibility, adhering strictly to all health and safety guidelines. You’ll be using equipment such as pallet trucks and roll cages, so a commitment to safe working practices is essential.

This is more than just a loading role; it’s about being an integral part of a team that keeps Sainsbury’s running smoothly, delighting our customers day after day. We’re looking for proactive individuals who are comfortable with physical work, can work effectively both independently and as part of a team, and are committed to maintaining high standards of operational excellence.
