Job Description
We are seeking an ambitious and results-driven Business Development Officer to spearhead market expansion initiatives in Bunia and the wider Ituri Province. This pivotal role is perfect for a dynamic professional with a deep understanding of the local economic landscape and a passion for fostering growth. As a Business Development Officer, you will be instrumental in identifying untapped market segments, forging new client relationships, and strategically positioning TMB as the preferred financial partner for businesses and individuals alike. You will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive market entry strategies, conducting in-depth market research, and actively engaging with potential clients to understand their financial needs and offer tailored solutions. This role requires a proactive approach to sales, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to work independently while contributing to the overall strategic goals of the bank. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify new business opportunities, emerging market segments, and potential client bases within Bunia and surrounding areas.
- Develop and implement strategic market expansion plans to increase TMB’s footprint and client portfolio in the specified region.
- Proactively identify, approach, and engage with potential individual clients, SMEs, corporations, and organizations to promote TMB’s products and services.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships by understanding their needs and providing expert financial advice and solutions.
- Prepare compelling business proposals, presentations, and sales pitches tailored to prospective clients.
- Achieve and exceed assigned sales targets and KPIs, contributing directly to the bank's growth objectives.
- Collaborate closely with internal departments, including Credit, Operations, and Product Development, to ensure seamless client onboarding and service delivery.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to inform business strategies and product development.
- Prepare regular reports on business development activities, market insights, and sales performance for management review.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or client relationship management, preferably within the financial services sector.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and secure new business opportunities and achieve sales targets.
- Strong understanding of the economic and business landscape of Bunia and Ituri Province.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills in French and Swahili (both verbal and written).
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a target-driven environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of progressive experience in business development or sales within a reputable organization.
- Fluency in English is an added advantage.
- Existing network of contacts within the business community of Bunia and Ituri.
