Job Description

We are seeking an ambitious and results-driven Business Development Officer to spearhead market expansion initiatives in Bunia and the wider Ituri Province. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify new business opportunities, emerging market segments, and potential client bases within Bunia and surrounding areas.
  • Develop and implement strategic market expansion plans to increase TMB’s footprint and client portfolio in the specified region.
  • Proactively identify, approach, and engage with potential individual clients, SMEs, corporations, and organizations to promote TMB’s products and services.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships by understanding their needs and providing expert financial advice and solutions.
  • Prepare compelling business proposals, presentations, and sales pitches tailored to prospective clients.
  • Achieve and exceed assigned sales targets and KPIs, contributing directly to the bank's growth objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with internal departments, including Credit, Operations, and Product Development, to ensure seamless client onboarding and service delivery.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to inform business strategies and product development.
  • Prepare regular reports on business development activities, market insights, and sales performance for management review.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or client relationship management, preferably within the financial services sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and secure new business opportunities and achieve sales targets.
  • Strong understanding of the economic and business landscape of Bunia and Ituri Province.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills in French and Swahili (both verbal and written).
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a target-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of progressive experience in business development or sales within a reputable organization.
  • Fluency in English is an added advantage.
  • Existing network of contacts within the business community of Bunia and Ituri.
