Job Description
Oando PLC is seeking a talented and experienced Photographer to join our dynamic Communications team in Port Harcourt. This is a unique opportunity for a visual storyteller to capture the essence of our diverse operations, corporate events, and internal initiatives. The ideal candidate will be adept at both event and studio photography, possessing a keen eye for detail, composition, and lighting. You will be responsible for creating high-quality visual content that supports our branding, public relations, internal communications, and marketing efforts. This role demands creativity, technical proficiency, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced corporate environment. From documenting official company milestones and community engagement programs to producing professional headshots and product shots in a studio setting, your work will be vital in portraying Oando’s commitment to its stakeholders and its vision for the future of energy. You will manage the entire photography process, from conceptualization and shooting to post-production and digital asset management, ensuring all visual outputs align with our corporate guidelines and quality standards. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, shoot, and edit high-quality photographs for a variety of corporate needs, including events, conferences, workshops, internal meetings, and community relations activities.
- Conduct professional studio photoshoots for executive portraits, employee headshots, and specialized product or facility imagery.
- Develop creative concepts and visual strategies in collaboration with the Communications and Marketing teams to effectively convey key messages and narratives.
- Manage and maintain photography equipment, ensuring all gear is in excellent working condition and readily available for assignments.
- Perform advanced photo editing, retouching, color correction, and manipulation using industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom) to enhance image quality and consistency.
- Organize, archive, and manage a digital asset library of photographs, ensuring proper categorization, metadata tagging, and accessibility.
- Adhere strictly to corporate brand guidelines and visual identity standards in all photographic outputs.
- Stay updated with the latest photography trends, techniques, and equipment to continuously improve the quality and innovation of visual content.
- Collaborate with videographers and other team members on integrated media projects, occasionally assisting with videography tasks if required.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in professional DSLR/mirrorless cameras and various lighting techniques (natural, artificial, studio flash).
- Expertise in Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and other relevant photo editing software.
- Strong understanding of photographic principles including composition, exposure, and color theory.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- A strong portfolio showcasing a range of event and studio photography work.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, impactful visuals.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Photography, Visual Arts, Mass Communication, or a related field.
- Experience working in a corporate environment, particularly within the energy or a similar industrial sector.
- Knowledge of videography principles and experience with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro) is a significant advantage.
- Familiarity with digital asset management systems.
