Job Description
Hospiten Montego Bay is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate General Practice Physician to join our esteemed medical team. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient consultations, including history taking, physical examinations, and accurate diagnosis of various medical conditions.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., lab work, imaging) to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, prescribing appropriate medications, therapies, and referrals to specialists when necessary.
- Manage acute and chronic illnesses, providing ongoing care and monitoring patient progress.
- Provide preventative care, including health screenings, immunizations, and lifestyle counseling.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment options, and disease prevention.
- Maintain accurate, detailed, and confidential patient medical records in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and holistic patient care.
- Participate in continuous professional development activities and hospital quality improvement initiatives.
- Respond to medical emergencies as required, providing immediate and appropriate care.
Required Skills
- Valid medical license to practice in Jamaica.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
- Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathize with patients.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications
- Residency training in Family Medicine or General Practice.
