Key Responsibilities
- Accurately assess vehicle damage, identify required repairs, and estimate necessary parts and labor.
- Perform panel beating, welding (MIG, spot, plastic), and metalworking to repair or replace damaged body parts.
- Utilize advanced measuring systems to ensure correct chassis alignment and structural integrity.
- Disassemble and reassemble vehicle components, including interior trim, electrical systems, and mechanical parts, as required for repair.
- Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting, including sanding, priming, and masking.
- Conduct final quality checks to ensure all repairs meet company standards and customer expectations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Keep up-to-date with industry advancements, repair techniques, and vehicle technologies through ongoing training and development.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and management regarding repair progress and any potential issues.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an Auto Body Technician or Panel Beater, specifically in accident repair.
- Proficiency in various welding techniques (MIG, spot, plastic).
- Strong knowledge of vehicle construction and repair methods for modern vehicles.
- Ability to accurately use measuring and alignment equipment.
- Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Valid UK driving license.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Body Repair or equivalent qualification.
