Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive social media content strategy aligned with Vodacom Congo's overall marketing objectives and brand guidelines.
  • Create and manage detailed content calendars across various platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.) ensuring a consistent, engaging, and timely presence.
  • Research and identify trending topics, local events, cultural nuances, and consumer insights relevant to the Mwene-Ditu and broader DRC market to inform content creation.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, sales, customer service, and product development teams to gather content ideas, ensure accuracy, and maintain relevance of messaging.
  • Oversee the creation and curation of diverse content formats, including text, image, video, infographics, and live streams, optimized for each platform's audience and specifications.
  • Monitor social media trends, emerging tools, and new applications, actively testing and recommending innovative approaches to enhance engagement and reach.
  • Analyze social media performance data, generate comprehensive reports, and provide actionable insights to continuously optimize future content strategies and campaigns.
  • Ensure all social media content adheres strictly to company policies, ethical guidelines, and relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Actively engage with the online community, respond to comments and messages promptly and professionally, and foster a positive, responsive brand image.
  • Train and mentor junior team members or interns on best practices in social media content planning and execution.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 3 years) as a Social Media Manager or Content Strategist, with a strong portfolio showcasing successful content campaigns and measurable results.
  • In-depth knowledge of major social media platforms, their algorithms, analytics tools, and best practices for content distribution and audience engagement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and Lingala, with impeccable grammar, persuasive copywriting abilities, and an authentic brand voice. (Swahili is a significant plus).
  • Demonstrable experience in content calendar development, scheduling, and management using industry-standard tools.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, identify key trends, and translate insights into actionable content strategies.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for compelling visuals, engaging storytelling, and innovative content formats.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, often under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency with social media management and analytics tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social, Facebook Analytics, Instagram Insights).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • Certification in Social Media Marketing, Content Strategy, or Digital Marketing.
  • Prior experience in the telecommunications industry, technology sector, or a rapidly evolving service-oriented business.
  • Basic graphic design skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) for quick content creation and adjustments.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce short video content for social platforms.
  • Fluency in other local languages widely spoken in the Lomami Province or across the DRC.
