You will be responsible for preparing reagents, media, and solutions, ensuring all laboratory equipment is clean, calibrated, and in excellent working order. Accurate record-keeping and data management are paramount, as you will assist in documenting experimental procedures, results, and maintaining detailed inventory logs of chemicals and consumables. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare reagents, media, and solutions accurately and in accordance with established protocols.
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment (e.g., centrifuges, pH meters, pipettes).
- Maintain meticulous records of experiments, sample inventories, and equipment logs.
- Ensure the laboratory adheres to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations, including proper waste disposal.
- Manage and organize laboratory supplies, chemicals, and consumables, initiating orders when necessary.
- Assist scientists with basic experimental procedures, data collection, and sample processing under supervision.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory workspace at all times.
- Sterilize glassware and other laboratory apparatus.
Required Skills
- B.Sc. degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field.
- Minimum of 1 year (12 months) of experience in a laboratory setting (academic or industry).
- Proficiency in basic laboratory techniques (e.g., pipetting, solution preparation, sterile technique).
- Strong understanding of laboratory safety procedures and best practices.
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and manage inventory.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with specific analytical instrumentation (e.g., spectroscopy, chromatography).
- Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) or Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
- Experience working with hazardous chemicals and biological materials.
- Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
