Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on all production equipment, machinery, and facilities to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using schematics, manuals, and diagnostic tools.
- Execute timely and effective repairs on malfunctioning equipment to minimize production downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
- Conduct daily inspections of equipment and facilities, identifying potential issues and implementing proactive solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including repairs, parts used, and time spent, utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Collaborate with production teams to understand equipment performance challenges and provide technical support.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company safety policies, industry regulations, and quality standards.
- Participate in the installation, commissioning, and optimization of new equipment and machinery.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the development of more efficient maintenance strategies.
- Assist in training junior technicians and production staff on basic equipment operation and maintenance procedures.
- Manage inventory of spare parts and tools, ensuring availability for critical repairs and maintenance tasks.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in equipment repair and maintenance.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical control systems, PLCs, and motor controls.
- Familiarity with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and electrical schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or higher in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Certification in a relevant trade (e.g., Industrial Electrician, Millwright).
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Experience in a food & beverage manufacturing environment.
- Welding and fabrication skills.
