Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule daily transport operations, including route planning, driver assignments, and vehicle allocation for same-day deliveries.
- Liaise effectively with drivers, customers, and internal departments to ensure clear communication and smooth execution of services.
- Monitor and track shipments in real-time, providing updates and proactively addressing any potential delays or issues.
- Manage and resolve operational challenges such as reroutes, vehicle breakdowns, and unforeseen circumstances, ensuring minimal disruption to service.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all transport activities, including delivery manifestos, driver logs, and service reports.
- Ensure strict compliance with all relevant transport regulations, health and safety standards, and company policies.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on logistics performance, efficiency metrics, and service levels for management review.
- Assist with fleet management tasks, including scheduling vehicle maintenance and ensuring all vehicles are roadworthy.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the transport department to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in a logistics, transport, or dispatch coordination role.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with drivers, customers, and colleagues.
- Proficiency in using logistics software, transport management systems (TMS), and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to operational challenges.
- Solid understanding of UK transport regulations and compliance requirements.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
