As a Laundry Helper, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the impeccable standards of our hotel. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure all hotel linens, towels, uniforms for staff, and guest laundry are spotlessly clean, perfectly pressed, and meticulously organized. This position is vital to our guest satisfaction, as clean, fresh, and perfectly presented linen is a cornerstone of a luxurious and comfortable hotel experience. You will be responsible for operating industrial washing machines, dryers, and ironing equipment, following precise instructions for different fabric types and laundry cycles. Key tasks include sorting soiled items, identifying and treating stains effectively, loading and unloading machinery, folding and stacking processed laundry, and ensuring all items meet our stringent quality checks before being distributed.
Beyond the technical aspects, this role requires a proactive and collaborative team player who can work seamlessly with other laundry staff and communicate effectively with supervisors. You’ll need to be physically capable of lifting and moving laundry bags, standing for extended periods, and working efficiently in a dynamic and sometimes fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
- Sort laundry items by type, color, and fabric to ensure proper washing procedures.
- Operate commercial washing machines, dryers, and ironing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Inspect items for stains and perform pre-treatment or re-washing as necessary.
- Fold, iron, and stack clean linens, towels, and uniforms neatly and according to hotel standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized laundry area, including equipment and work surfaces.
- Report any malfunctioning equipment or damage to linens to the supervisor promptly.
- Assist in taking inventory of linen supplies and monitoring stock levels.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and hotel policies.
