Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, comprehensive inspections, and preventative care on a wide range of motorcycles.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues accurately using specialized tools and advanced diagnostic equipment.
- Execute high-quality repairs on engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspensions, fuel systems, and other critical motorcycle components.
- Conduct precision performance tuning, carburetor adjustments, and fuel injection system diagnostics and recalibrations.
- Assemble and disassemble engines and other major components for thorough repair or complete overhaul.
- Install aftermarket parts and accessories as requested by customers, ensuring proper fit and function.
- Perform extensive test rides to ensure proper functionality, identify any remaining issues, and confirm safety standards.
- Maintain accurate, detailed service records and meticulous documentation of all work performed and parts used.
- Communicate effectively and transparently with customers regarding service recommendations, accurate repair estimates, and job progress.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and regulations, maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
- Continuously update technical knowledge and skills through company-sponsored training programs and industry publications.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise and hands-on experience in motorcycle diagnostics, repair, and maintenance.
- Strong foundational knowledge of various motorcycle engine systems (e.g., 2-stroke, 4-stroke, carbureted, fuel-injected).
- Proficient in electrical system troubleshooting, wiring repair, and component replacement.
- Demonstrated experience with a diverse range of motorcycle brands and models.
- Skilled in using a variety of diagnostic tools, specialized hand tools, and power tools specific to motorcycles.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, critical thinking, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret complex technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and service bulletins.
- Valid motorcycle driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical certification from a recognized motorcycle mechanic program (e.g., Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Harley-Davidson certifications).
- Prior experience with performance tuning, dynamometer operation, and custom fabrication.
- Familiarity with a wide array of aftermarket accessories and customization trends.
- Exceptional customer service and strong verbal communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency for record-keeping, parts ordering, and diagnostic software operation.
