Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and closure of corporate and implementation projects, ensuring strict alignment with organizational goals and strategic objectives.
  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical and operational feasibility.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including detailed tasks, timelines, resource allocation, and rigorous budget management.
  • Manage and inspire project teams, providing strong leadership, clear direction, and continuous support to ensure successful project execution.
  • Monitor project progress, track performance against baselines, identify deviations, and implement timely corrective actions.
  • Conduct proactive risk management, including identification, assessment, and mitigation strategies, to minimize project risks and ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Facilitate effective and transparent communication among all project stakeholders, including regular updates and presentations to senior management.
  • Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques and change control processes.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all relevant banking regulations, internal policies, and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare detailed project documentation, progress reports, and conduct thorough post-implementation reviews to capture lessons learned.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying lessons learned and incorporating best practices into future projects and processes.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in a corporate or financial services environment (minimum 5 years).
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Scrum) and best practices.
  • Exceptional leadership, team management, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Asana, Primavera P6).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex budgets, allocate resources efficiently, and adhere to strict timelines.
  • Strong analytical and critical problem-solving capabilities.
  • Expertise in risk identification, assessment, and mitigation strategies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology, Engineering, or a closely related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP, PRINCE2, CSM, or other recognized project management certification.
  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Extensive experience with large-scale system implementations or digital transformation projects within the banking sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of banking products, services, operations, and regulatory requirements in Nigeria.
  • Experience working with diverse, cross-functional teams in a complex organizational structure.
