Job Description

Strachan Partners is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal specializing in Law and Documentation to join our esteemed team in Rumuokparali, Port Harcourt. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct preliminary legal research and gather relevant information for cases, projects, and transactions.
  • Draft, review, and proofread a variety of legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, affidavits, motions, and correspondence, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legal standards.
  • Organize and maintain physical and electronic client files, legal documents, and case records in a systematic and confidential manner.
  • Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings, trials, and client meetings by compiling exhibits, organizing discovery materials, and coordinating schedules.
  • Manage and track deadlines, ensuring timely submission of filings and responses.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, courts, and other external parties under attorney supervision.
  • Perform administrative tasks as required, including scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and processing invoices.
  • Stay updated on relevant legal developments, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Assist with due diligence processes for corporate transactions and real estate matters.
  • Provide general support to the legal team as needed to ensure efficient operation of the practice.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or HND in Law, Legal Studies, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant within a reputable law firm or corporate legal department.
  • Proven proficiency in legal research methodologies and tools (e.g., LexisNexis, Westlaw, or local legal databases).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and grammar.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a demanding environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Paralegal certificate or diploma from an accredited institution.
  • Experience with case management software or document management systems.
  • Familiarity with corporate, commercial, or dispute resolution practice areas in Nigeria.
