Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team within the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Limited in Agege. This is an immediate hiring opportunity for a dedicated professional eager to contribute to critical energy infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems and components across various NNPC facilities and operations. This role demands a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, safety protocols, and industry best practices in the oil and gas sector. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, manage projects, and ensure the reliability and efficiency of our electrical infrastructure, playing a crucial role in maintaining seamless operations and upholding the highest standards of safety and performance. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and supervise the installation and maintenance of electrical equipment, components, and systems.
- Perform routine inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical installations to ensure operational efficiency and reliability.
- Analyze and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement safety procedures to comply with industry standards and regulations.
- Manage electrical projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and departments to integrate electrical systems with broader operational goals.
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and project documentation.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
- Stay abreast of new technologies, codes, and standards in electrical engineering and the oil & gas industry.
- Participate in emergency response drills and incidents as required.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of demonstrable experience as an Electrical Engineer, preferably within the oil & gas or heavy industrial sector.
- Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, PSCAD).
- Strong knowledge of electrical power systems, control systems, and instrumentation.
- Familiarity with Nigerian and international electrical codes and standards (e.g., IEEE, IEC, NEC).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proven ability to manage projects and work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant specialization.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification (e.g., COREN).
- Experience with High Voltage (HV) and Medium Voltage (MV) systems.
- Knowledge of hazardous area classification and explosion protection principles.
- PMP or other project management certifications.
- Prior experience working directly on NNPC projects or facilities.
