Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Auto Electrician to join our dynamic team at Autopac Motor Care. As an Auto Electrician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining the complex electrical systems of various vehicles. This role requires an in-depth understanding of automotive electronics, strong diagnostic abilities, and a commitment to precision and safety. You will work on a wide range of vehicles, from passenger cars to light commercial vehicles, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and techniques. Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults in various vehicle systems, including starting, charging, lighting, ignition, and accessory systems.
- Repair, replace, and adjust electrical components such as alternators, starters, wiring harnesses, sensors, and electronic control units (ECUs).
- Install and configure new electrical systems and components, including aftermarket accessories and integrated vehicle technologies.
- Perform routine maintenance on vehicle electrical systems, including battery testing, cable inspection, and fuse replacement.
- Interpret complex wiring diagrams and technical manuals to identify and resolve electrical issues.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment (scan tools, multimeters, oscilloscopes) to pinpoint electrical problems accurately.
- Maintain accurate records of all diagnostic tests, repairs performed, and parts used.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and environmental regulations in the workshop.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians as needed.
- Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers regarding diagnostic findings and repair recommendations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an Auto Electrician or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems and components.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment (e.g., scan tools, multimeters, circuit testers).
- Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Commitment to workplace safety standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical certification or diploma in Automotive Electrical Systems or a related field.
- Experience with various vehicle makes and models, including modern electronic systems.
- Familiarity with ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems) diagnostics and calibration.
