Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth financial consultations to understand customers' mortgage needs and financial situations.
- Provide expert, compliant, and tailored advice on various mortgage products (e.g., residential, buy-to-let, re-mortgage).
- Guide customers through the entire mortgage application process, from initial enquiry to completion.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the mortgage market, Bank of Scotland products, and regulatory changes (FCA).
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Identify and act upon cross-selling opportunities for other banking products where appropriate.
- Adhere strictly to all compliance, regulatory (e.g., MCOB, CONC), and internal policy guidelines.
- Achieve agreed sales targets and key performance indicators while maintaining quality and compliance standards.
- Prepare and present clear, accurate, and concise mortgage recommendations to customers.
- Collaborate effectively with branch colleagues and support teams to ensure a seamless customer journey.
Required Skills
- Full CeMAP qualification (Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice).
- Proven experience as a Mortgage Advisor or Consultant within the banking or financial services sector.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to build rapport and trust with diverse customer profiles.
- Proficient in using financial software and CRM systems.
- High degree of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A strong commitment to customer service excellence.
- Target-driven with a track record of achieving sales goals.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional qualification beyond CeMAP (e.g., DipFA, CeRER).
- Experience working within a large retail bank.
- Knowledge of the Scottish mortgage market.

- Existing network of professional contacts within the property sector.
