Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Contract Painter specializing in wall finishing to join our project teams in Ajao Estate, Oshodi-Isolo. This role involves executing high-quality interior and exterior painting work for various construction and renovation projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying paint, and ensuring a flawless finish that meets Wabeco Nigeria Limited’s stringent quality standards. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, scraping, sanding, patching, and priming.
- Apply various types of paint, varnishes, stains, and other finishes to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray guns.
- Mix and match paint colors to achieve desired shades and finishes.
- Read blueprints or specifications to determine the scope of work and required materials.
- Ensure proper ventilation and safety measures are followed during painting.
- Protect adjacent surfaces and furnishings from paint splatters.
- Clean up work areas and equipment after each project.
- Inspect finished surfaces to ensure high-quality and defect-free work.
- Report any material or equipment needs and project progress to the site supervisor.
- Adhere to project timelines and budget requirements.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Painter, particularly in wall finishing.
- Excellent knowledge of painting techniques, tools, and materials.
- Proficiency in surface preparation (sanding, plastering, priming).
- Ability to accurately mix and match paint colors.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality finishes.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform painting tasks.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Knowledge of safety procedures in painting and construction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification from a recognized vocational or trade school in painting or related field.
- Experience working on large-scale commercial or residential construction projects.
