Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Laundry Supervisor to join our dedicated team at Presken Hotels & Resorts in Oshodi, Oshodi-Isolo. This pivotal role is essential for maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and hygiene that our guests expect and deserve. As a Laundry Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our hotel laundry facility, ensuring that all linen, towels, staff uniforms, and guest dry-cleaning are processed efficiently, to the highest quality, and in a timely manner. You will manage a team of laundry attendants, supervise the use and maintenance of laundry equipment, and implement best practices for inventory management and cost control. This role demands a keen eye for detail, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to operational excellence. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the laundry department, including washing, drying, ironing, folding, and sorting of all hotel linen and uniforms.
- Ensure all laundry operations adhere to established quality standards, hygiene protocols, and safety regulations.
- Train, motivate, and manage laundry staff, including scheduling, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
- Monitor and control inventory of laundry supplies, chemicals, and linen to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize waste.
- Operate and perform minor maintenance checks on laundry machinery such as industrial washers, dryers, and ironers, reporting any major malfunctions immediately.
- Implement and maintain efficient linen handling procedures to prevent damage and extend the lifespan of hotel textiles.
- Oversee the processing of guest laundry and dry-cleaning requests, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Conduct regular inspections of processed items to ensure cleanliness, stain removal, and proper finishing.
- Maintain accurate records of linen inventory, chemical usage, and maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with other departments, especially Housekeeping, to ensure a seamless flow of clean linen and effective communication regarding needs.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve laundry efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and manage costs effectively.
- Ensure a clean, organized, and safe working environment within the laundry area.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Laundry Supervisor or similar role in a hotel setting
- In-depth knowledge of laundry processes, equipment, and chemical usage
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer literacy for record-keeping and inventory management
