As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will be a cornerstone of our daily operations, playing a crucial role in creating an engaging, safe, and stimulating learning environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Support the lead educator in planning and delivering engaging and educational activities in line with the EYFS framework.
  • Assist in the daily care routines of children, including meal times, nap times, and personal hygiene.
  • Observe and monitor children's progress, recording observations and contributing to their individual learning plans.
  • Create a safe, clean, and stimulating learning environment that encourages exploration and discovery.
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, ensuring effective communication.
  • Promote positive behavior and social skills among children, fostering an inclusive and respectful atmosphere.
  • Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all children at all times, adhering to all nursery policies and procedures.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and continuous professional development opportunities.

Required Skills

  • Level 2 qualification in Early Years, Childcare, or a related field (e.g., Cache Level 2).
  • Proven experience working with children aged 0-5 in an early years setting.
  • Solid understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with children, parents, and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach to child development.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
  • Up-to-date DBS check or willingness to undergo one.
  • Paediatric First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Level 3 qualification in Early Years, Childcare, or a related field.
  • Experience with specific learning approaches such as Montessori, Reggio Emilia, or curiosity approach.
  • Additional training in special educational needs (SEN) or safeguarding.
  • Proficiency in basic IT tools for record-keeping and communication.
