Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and engage customers in a friendly and professional manner within the store and during field activities.
  • Actively listen to customer needs and recommend appropriate products, ensuring a personalized shopping experience.
  • Achieve and consistently exceed assigned sales targets and KPIs.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of all products, promotions, and store policies.
  • Assist with merchandising, stock rotation, and ensuring products are well-displayed and shelves are adequately stocked.
  • Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints effectively and professionally, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Conduct occasional field visits to local businesses or communities to promote Everyday Supermarket offerings and build customer loyalty.
  • Process sales transactions accurately using POS systems and handle cash/card payments.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions to enhance product knowledge and sales skills.
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and inviting store environment.
  • Prepare daily sales reports and provide feedback on market trends and customer preferences.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in sales or customer service, preferably in a retail environment.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong negotiation and persuasion abilities.
  • Customer-centric approach with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer literacy and comfort with POS systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) or equivalent in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in retail sales, particularly in a supermarket or FMCG setting.
  • Familiarity with the Diobu, Port Harcourt local market and customer demographics.
  • Ability to speak local languages (e.g., Ikwerre, Ijaw, Igbo) is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive a motorcycle/car for field activities (if applicable).
