Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards of all kitchen areas, including floors, walls, and workstations, according to hotel policies and health regulations.
  • Operate and maintain dishwashing machines, ensuring all crockery, cutlery, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils are thoroughly cleaned, dried, and properly stored.
  • Assist with the unloading, stacking, and organization of deliveries, ensuring proper rotation and storage of goods.
  • Manage waste disposal, including segregating recyclable materials and ensuring trash bins are regularly emptied and cleaned.
  • Perform basic food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables, under the direct supervision of chefs.
  • Transport food, supplies, and equipment between kitchen areas as required, ensuring efficient movement within the kitchen.
  • Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or faulty equipment to the kitchen management promptly to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene standards within the kitchen, promoting a culture of safety and cleanliness.

Required Skills

  • Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 25kg) and stand for extended periods.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions precisely and efficiently.
  • Basic understanding of kitchen operations and fundamental sanitation practices.
  • Willingness to learn new tasks and adapt to changing kitchen requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a hotel, restaurant, or catering environment is an advantage.
