You will collaborate closely with our Human Resources and International Operations teams, providing critical technical insights during the selection and onboarding process for maintenance professionals destined for our international sites or projects. This may involve assisting in the development and execution of technical skill assessments for overseas candidates, participating in interviews to gauge practical competencies, and helping to design and deliver standardized technical training modules that align with our global best practices. Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic tests, troubleshoot, and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on manufacturing equipment.
- Execute preventative and predictive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal machine performance and reduce downtime.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and company policies.
- Collaborate with production teams to prioritize maintenance tasks and minimize operational disruptions.
- Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used accurately in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Provide technical expertise and insights to HR and International Operations teams during the recruitment of overseas maintenance professionals.
- Assist in developing and conducting technical skill assessments for international candidates.
- Contribute to the creation and refinement of standardized maintenance training programs for global implementation.
- Liaise with international teams to understand specific technical requirements and challenges in different operational contexts.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains in maintenance practices, both locally and internationally.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing principles.
Required Skills
- Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC) in Industrial Maintenance, Electro-mechanics, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical, electrical (up to 600V), hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Strong understanding of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and industrial automation.
- Excellent diagnostic, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical schematics, blueprints, and manuals.
- Solid understanding of safety protocols and best practices in an industrial environment.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) in English.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learning new systems quickly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Red Seal certification in Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) or Industrial Electrician.
- Experience with SAP PM or other CMMS software.
- Previous involvement in training, mentoring, or technical assessment roles.
- Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing standards and quality systems (e.g., AS9100).
- Experience working in an international or multicultural environment.
- Fluency in French is a significant asset.
- Knowledge of various welding techniques.
