Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage audit engagements from planning to completion, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., UK GAAP, IFRS) and statutory requirements.
- Prepare and review complex corporate tax computations, supporting clients with tax planning and advisory services to minimise liabilities and ensure compliance.
- Provide expert advice on corporate finance matters, including due diligence, business valuations, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) support, and financial modelling.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and identifying opportunities to provide additional value-added services.
- Mentor and support junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Keep abreast of changes in accounting standards, tax legislation, and corporate finance trends, applying new knowledge to client engagements.
- Prepare comprehensive financial statements and reports, providing clear and concise explanations to clients regarding their financial performance.
- Contribute to the firm's business development initiatives and internal process improvements.
Required Skills
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification (or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in a public practice environment, with exposure to audit, corporate tax, and corporate finance.
- Strong understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) and tax compliance software.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with clients and colleagues.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- A proactive and self-motivated approach to work, with a keen eye for detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with specialist audit software and corporate finance tools.
- Prior experience working with clients in specific sectors (e.g., manufacturing, technology, professional services).
