As a Machine Operator, you will play a crucial role in our production process, responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring various conventional and CNC machinery to produce high-quality precision parts. Your day-to-day will involve interpreting technical drawings and blueprints, ensuring machine efficiency, conducting rigorous quality checks using precision measuring instruments, and maintaining a safe and organized workspace. Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, drill presses, and grinders to perform machining operations.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics to determine machining operations to be performed.
  • Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges).
  • Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls as required.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and ensure a clean and safe work area.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and meet deadlines.
  • Load and unload materials and products into and from machines.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Machine Operator in a manufacturing environment (minimum 2 years).
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments accurately.
  • Knowledge of machine operating procedures and safety regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Legal eligibility to work in Canada upon successful relocation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal trade certification or diploma in Machining, Mechanical Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience with both conventional and CNC machining equipment.
  • Familiarity with various materials (e.g., steel, aluminum, exotic alloys).
  • Experience in a job shop or custom fabrication environment.
