Job Description
MMG Kinsevere is actively seeking a highly motivated and experienced Geologist specializing in Mineral Exploration to strengthen our dedicated team based in Mwene-Ditu, Lomami Province. This pivotal full-time role offers an unparalleled opportunity to immerse yourself in the rich geological landscape of the Democratic Republic of Congo, contributing directly to our strategic exploration initiatives. As a Geologist focused on mineral exploration, you will be at the forefront of discovering and delineating new mineral resources, playing a critical role in the entire exploration value chain. Your responsibilities will span from early-stage reconnaissance and meticulous target generation to the detailed management of drilling campaigns, sophisticated geological mapping, and robust data interpretation.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and supervise greenfield and brownfield exploration programs, including geological mapping, trenching, and drilling.
- Manage drilling campaigns, including drill hole targeting, contractor supervision, core logging, and sampling for various commodities.
- Conduct detailed geological mapping and structural interpretation in diverse geological settings.
- Interpret geophysical and geochemical data in conjunction with geological information to define exploration targets.
- Ensure strict adherence to company safety policies, environmental regulations, and best industry practices.
- Prepare comprehensive geological reports, maps, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain and manage geological databases, ensuring data integrity and quality control.
- Mentor junior geologists and field technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Liaise with local communities and government authorities, ensuring respectful and compliant operations.
- Contribute to resource estimation activities by providing accurate and robust geological models.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years (36 months) of practical experience in mineral exploration, preferably in a field-based role.
- Proficiency in geological mapping, core logging, and geochemical sampling techniques.
- Demonstrated experience with geological software (e.g., Leapfrog, Micromine, ArcGIS, QGIS).
- Strong understanding of ore deposit models and regional geology of Central Africa.
- Excellent observational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in remote and challenging field environments for extended periods.
- Strong commitment to safety, health, environment, and community (SHEC) standards.
- Valid driver's license and experience with 4×4 vehicles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Economic Geology or a related discipline.
- Experience with various drilling methodologies (RC, Diamond, Air Core).
- Proficiency in French and/or Swahili.
- Prior work experience in the Democratic Republic of Congo or similar challenging jurisdictions.
- Knowledge of JORC or NI 43-101 reporting standards.
- First Aid certification.
