Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage all logistical aspects of international recruitment, from initial contact to onboarding.
- Assist candidates and hiring managers with the preparation and submission of documentation for Canadian work permits, visas, Labour Market Impact Assessments (LMIAs), and other immigration-related processes.
- Act as a primary point of contact for international candidates, providing support and guidance throughout the recruitment and immigration journey.
- Ensure strict compliance with all Canadian immigration laws, employment standards, and company policies for international hires.
- Collaborate with external immigration lawyers and consultants to ensure accurate and timely processing of all immigration applications.
- Maintain meticulous and confidential records of all international candidates and employee immigration statuses.
- Assist with the development and implementation of international onboarding programs to facilitate a smooth transition for new employees.
- Provide administrative support to the broader HR and talent acquisition team as required.
- Stay updated on changes in Canadian immigration policies and employment legislation impacting international hiring.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an HR Coordinator or Recruitment Coordinator role, with exposure to international hiring or immigration processes.
- Solid understanding of Canadian immigration procedures (e.g., LMIA, work permits, permanent residency pathways).
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build rapport with diverse individuals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with HR Information Systems (HRIS).
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and document preparation.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education (diploma or degree) in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience working in the construction or a large-scale industrial environment.
- Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) or Certified Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation, or actively pursuing.
- Fluency in additional languages beyond English.
- Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and global recruitment platforms.
