Job Description
Join the vital supply chain that keeps Nunavut thriving! Arctic Co-operatives Limited is seeking dedicated and physically capable Truck Loaders to join our team in Iqaluit. This is a full-time, on-site position crucial for the efficient movement of goods into and out of our facilities. As a Truck Loader, you will be responsible for the safe and precise loading and unloading of various materials and products onto trucks, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to all safety protocols. Your work directly contributes to ensuring our communities receive the essential supplies they need, from food and household goods to construction materials.

Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load and unload freight, materials, and products onto and from trucks, trailers, and containers using appropriate equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, manual lifting).
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against invoices, manifests, or other records for accuracy and completeness.
- Organize and stack items in designated areas, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement to prevent damage during transit.
- Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, in a safe and responsible manner (training and certification may be provided).
- Perform routine checks on equipment and report any malfunctions or damage immediately.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment within the loading dock and warehouse areas.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation as required.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, drivers, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Prepare and complete all necessary shipping and receiving documentation accurately.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects repeatedly (up to 50 lbs / 23 kg) and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in counting and verifying items.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills for record-keeping and following instructions.
- Reliability and punctuality with a strong work ethic.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Valid driver's license (an asset, but not mandatory).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or loading/unloading role.
- Forklift operator certification or experience operating similar material handling equipment.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures.
- Ability to adapt to varying work conditions, including cold temperatures and changing weather.
