Job Description
Are you an experienced, reliable, and highly motivated Dispatch Rider with an excellent knowledge of Port Harcourt roads? GIG Logistics is seeking a dedicated and professional Dispatch Rider to join our dynamic team in Rumuibekwe Estate, Port Harcourt. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the timely and safe delivery of various packages, documents, and goods to our esteemed clients within Port Harcourt and its environs. This position demands a high level of responsibility, punctuality, and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction. As a Dispatch Rider, you will represent GIG Logistics on the front lines, ensuring that every delivery is handled with utmost care and delivered efficiently, upholding our reputation for speed and reliability. You will be required to navigate city traffic skillfully, plan optimal delivery routes, and communicate effectively with both our dispatch center and customers. We are looking for an individual who is not only skilled in riding but also possesses strong interpersonal skills, a professional demeanor, and a keen eye for detail. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and timely deliver packages, documents, and goods to designated locations within Port Harcourt.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries.
- Verify the contents of shipments against invoices and delivery notes before and after each delivery.
- Collect payments and issue receipts upon delivery when required.
- Maintain the assigned motorcycle in good working condition, performing routine checks and reporting any faults promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and road safety regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service, interacting professionally and courteously with clients.
- Communicate effectively with the dispatch team regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
- Handle packages with care to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and collections.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Dispatch Rider or similar role.
- Valid Class A (motorcycle) Rider's Permit/License.
- Excellent knowledge of Port Harcourt road networks and routes, especially within Rumuibekwe Estate and surrounding areas.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Physical fitness and stamina to handle long hours of riding and lifting packages.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
Preferred Qualifications
