Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor the movement of freight, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
- Liaise effectively with customers, carriers, drivers, and internal departments to facilitate smooth operations.
- Manage shipment documentation, including bills of lading, customs paperwork, and other necessary records.
- Track and trace shipments, providing real-time updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Identify and resolve logistical issues, such as delays, damages, or discrepancies, promptly and effectively.
- Negotiate rates with carriers and ensure cost-effective transportation solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of all transportation activities, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) and other software tools for optimal planning and execution.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain coordination.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated understanding of transportation regulations and best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) software.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
- Certification in supply chain or logistics (e.g., CITT, SCMP).
- Experience working with international freight and customs procedures.
