Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Process customer purchases efficiently and accurately using our point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and mobile money payments with precision and security.
  • Issue receipts, refunds, or change due to customers in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable service.
  • Resolve customer complaints or refer them to appropriate management when necessary, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and organized checkout area at all times.
  • Scan goods, ensure proper pricing, and bag items carefully and efficiently.
  • Assist with stocking shelves, arranging displays, and maintaining overall store appearance during downtimes, as needed.
  • Adhere strictly to all company policies and procedures, including those related to cash handling, security, and customer service.
  • Report any discrepancies, issues, or suspicious activities to the shift supervisor or manager promptly.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure a smooth and enjoyable shopping experience for all customers.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 6 months of proven experience as a Cashier or in a similar customer service role.
  • Solid mathematical skills and ability to handle cash and transactions accurately.
  • Familiarity with electronic point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash registers.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-first attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • High level of integrity, trustworthiness, and reliability.
