Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the comprehensive process of receiving, inspecting, storing, and dispatching raw materials, packaging, finished goods, and other essential supplies.
- Maintain impeccable and accurate inventory records through systematic stock counts, cycle counts, and diligent reconciliation processes utilizing advanced warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Ensure strict adherence to proper storage conditions for all products, meticulously observing safety, hygiene, and quality standards (e.g., FIFO/LIFO principles, temperature control, pest management).
- Coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams including procurement, production, quality assurance, and distribution to facilitate the seamless and timely movement of goods.
- Supervise loading and unloading operations, ensuring proper handling of materials and optimal utilization of warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and stackers.
- Proactively identify, investigate, and report any discrepancies, damages, or quality issues in incoming or outgoing shipments, initiating corrective actions where necessary.
- Implement, monitor, and strictly enforce all warehouse safety protocols, health regulations, and operational procedures to guarantee a safe and hazard-free working environment.
- Prepare regular, comprehensive inventory reports, stock movement analyses, and contribute actively to identifying and implementing improvements in warehouse operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Provide guidance, supervision, and ongoing training to junior warehouse staff, fostering a collaborative culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Operate within established budgets and contribute to cost-control measures for all aspects of warehouse operations.
Required Skills
- Minimum of HND or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
- At least 3 years of proven, hands-on experience in a warehouse or inventory management role, preferably within a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) or manufacturing environment.
- Solid understanding of end-to-end warehouse operations, robust inventory control principles, and stringent safety standards.
- Proficiency in utilizing Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Exceptional organizational and meticulous time management skills with the demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and unwavering commitment to accuracy in record-keeping and stock management.
- Ability to work efficiently and independently, as well as collaboratively within a team in a demanding and dynamic environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Physical fitness and the capability to lift, move, and handle heavy items as required for warehouse tasks.
- Basic knowledge of local and relevant international logistics and warehousing regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification in Supply Chain Management or Logistics (e.g., CILT, APICS).
- Prior experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, particularly SAP.
- Valid forklift operating license.
- Demonstrated strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
- Proven ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and manage tight deadlines effectively.
