Job Description
Trust Merchant Bank (TMB) is seeking a vigilant and dedicated Security Guard to join our team in Beni, North Kivu Province, specifically for the night shift. In this critical role, you will be the first line of defense for our branch, safeguarding our assets, premises, and personnel during non-business hours. This position requires an individual with an unwavering commitment to safety, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to act decisively in various situations. You will be responsible for maintaining a secure and orderly environment, monitoring surveillance systems, conducting regular patrols, and responding to any security breaches or emergencies. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of the bank premises, both interior and exterior, during the entire night shift to deter potential threats.
- Monitor surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and other security equipment diligently to detect and prevent unauthorized access or activity.
- Control access points, ensuring only authorized personnel or vehicles enter the premises, meticulously verifying identities.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, disturbances, or emergency situations, following established protocols and escalating as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of all security-related incidents, observations, and activities in a detailed logbook for audit and reporting purposes.
- Collaborate effectively with local law enforcement and emergency services when necessary to resolve security issues.
- Ensure all doors, windows, and gates are securely locked and unlocked at designated times, performing thorough checks.
- Report any suspicious activity, maintenance issues, or potential security risks to management immediately and clearly.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 1 year) as a Security Guard or in a similar security-related role.
- Strong observational and problem-solving skills, with an ability to assess situations quickly and accurately.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment under pressure, making informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with staff, visitors, and emergency services.
- Basic knowledge of security protocols and procedures, including emergency response and incident reporting.
- Physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods during the night shift.
- Proficiency in French (spoken and written); knowledge of Swahili or other local languages is a significant advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent; professional security training or certification is highly desirable.
- Previous experience in banking or financial institution security, understanding specific security challenges.
- First Aid and CPR certification, demonstrating preparedness for medical emergencies.
