Job Description
UBA is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and meticulous Warehouse Officer to join our dynamic team on Broad Street, Lagos Island. This pivotal role is essential for maintaining the integrity and efficiency of our supply chain and operational support systems. As a Warehouse Officer, you will be instrumental in the precise management of inventory, overseeing the receipt, storage, and dispatch of various corporate assets, stationery, marketing materials, IT peripherals, and other critical supplies that support our extensive branch network and administrative functions. Your expertise in inventory control and logistics will ensure that all items are accurately accounted for, stored optimally according to safety and accessibility standards, and dispatched efficiently to meet organizational demands, thereby minimizing waste, preventing stockouts, and maximizing operational flow.
This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced and high-volume environment. You will be responsible for implementing and adhering to strict inventory management procedures, utilizing our enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and other relevant software to accurately track stock levels, conduct regular stock audits and reconciliation, and generate insightful reports. The role involves the physical handling of goods, potentially operating basic warehouse equipment, and ensuring strict compliance with all health, safety, and security protocols as mandated by UBA and regulatory bodies. You will be a key player in ensuring that our operational units always have the resources they need, precisely when they need them, directly contributing to UBA’s seamless service delivery and continued success. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the receiving, inspection, storage, and dispatch of all incoming and outgoing goods and materials.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using the company's ERP system, ensuring data integrity at all times.
- Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile them with system records, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Optimize warehouse space utilization through effective layout and storage strategies.
- Prepare and process orders for dispatch, ensuring correct items and quantities are issued.
- Coordinate with internal departments and external logistics providers for timely delivery and collection of goods.
- Implement and enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and security policies within the warehouse.
- Monitor stock levels and report on low stock or obsolete items, collaborating with procurement for replenishment.
- Generate periodic inventory reports, including stock movement, usage, and valuation.
- Ensure all warehouse operations comply with company policies and regulatory standards.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving items, and standing for extended periods.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional certification in supply chain management or logistics (e.g., CIPS, CSCP).
- Experience working in a banking, financial services, or large corporate environment.
- Knowledge of Nigerian logistics and warehousing regulations.
