Key Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with all activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding, with dignity and respect.
  • Accurately monitor and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure), intake, and output, promptly reporting any significant changes or concerns to the nursing staff.
  • Safely assist patients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation, utilizing appropriate safety measures, assistive devices, and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, comfortable, and safe patient environment, ensuring patient hygiene and well-being.
  • Provide compassionate emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families, fostering a trusting and caring atmosphere.
  • Document care provided thoroughly, accurately, and timely in electronic health records (EHR) in accordance with facility policies.
  • Assist nurses with various procedures, treatments, and tasks as delegated and strictly within the scope of practice for a Healthcare Assistant.
  • Adhere strictly to all hospital policies, procedures, safety regulations, and infection control protocols.
  • Actively participate in care planning meetings and contribute valuable insights to the development and achievement of patient care goals.
  • Communicate effectively, clearly, and respectfully with patients, families, and all members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification, Patient Care Technician (PCT) certification, or equivalent national healthcare assistant certification.
  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience in a hospital, long-term care, acute care, or skilled nursing facility setting.
  • Familiarity and experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities, particularly in languages common in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
  • Completion of a recognized and accredited healthcare assistant training program or vocational nursing program.
