GraceKennedy Limited is seeking a dedicated Procurement Officer to join our dynamic team in Kingston. You will be responsible for managing the entire procurement lifecycle, from identifying reliable suppliers and negotiating favorable terms to managing contracts and ensuring timely delivery. Key Responsibilities

  • Execute the full procurement cycle, from requisition to order placement and delivery.
  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on price, quality, delivery, and service.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve the best value for money.
  • Manage vendor relationships, monitor supplier performance, and resolve issues effectively.
  • Conduct market research to identify new products, services, and potential suppliers.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards in all procurement activities.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier information.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the procurement function.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, spend analysis, and savings.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of procurement strategies and initiatives.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a procurement or supply chain role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Proven negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) for procurement.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of integrity and ethical conduct.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply).
  • Master's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related discipline.
  • Experience in the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) or Financial Services industry.
  • Knowledge of Jamaican customs regulations and import procedures.
