Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHEDC) invites you to join our growing team in D-Line, Port Harcourt, as an Electrical Engineer specializing in Power/Energy Systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement electrical systems, components, and equipment for power generation, transmission, and distribution networks.
- Conduct detailed power system analysis, including load flow, short circuit, and stability studies, using specialized software (e.g., ETAP, PSCAD).
- Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical infrastructure, ensuring compliance with national and international standards and safety regulations.
- Diagnose complex electrical faults, troubleshoot system failures, and develop effective remedial solutions to minimize service disruptions.
- Prepare comprehensive technical specifications, engineering drawings, and project documentation for new installations and system upgrades.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution and operational efficiency.
- Participate in the planning and execution of routine and preventive maintenance schedules for all electrical assets, including transformers, switchgear, and protective relays.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and industry best practices in all engineering activities and projects.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in power generation, transmission, or distribution systems.
- Proficiency in power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, PSCAD, DIgSILENT PowerFactory).
- Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards (e.g., IEEE, IEC), and safety regulations.
- Experience with AutoCAD or other CAD software for electrical design and drafting.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Power Systems Engineering or a related discipline.
- Professional engineering registration (e.g., COREN in Nigeria).
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
- Experience with SCADA systems and smart grid technologies.
- Familiarity with renewable energy integration into traditional grids.
