Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor on active construction sites.
  • Load, unload, and transport building materials, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Operate a range of hand and power tools (e.g., drills, saws, grinders, hammers, shovels) according to safety guidelines.
  • Assist skilled tradespersons such as carpenters, masons, electricians, and plumbers with their tasks.
  • Clean and prepare construction sites, including removing debris, hazardous materials, and maintaining a tidy work area.
  • Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and compact earth to specified grades and depths.
  • Erect and dismantle scaffolding, temporary structures, and barricades as required by project needs.
  • Strictly follow all company and regulatory safety procedures, protocols, and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Read and interpret basic construction drawings, blueprints, and work orders to complete tasks accurately.
  • Work collaboratively with project managers, supervisors, and other team members to ensure project deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support overall project objectives and site operations.

Required Skills

  • Proven ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, stooping, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in operating various hand and power tools safely and effectively in a construction setting.
  • Strong understanding and adherence to construction site safety regulations, procedures, and best practices.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently with minimal supervision and as an integral part of a larger construction team.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to understand and follow complex verbal and written instructions accurately.
  • Basic knowledge of construction methods, materials, and terminology.
  • Reliable, punctual, and possess a strong, positive work ethic with a commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment (e.g., forklifts, excavators, skid steers).
  • Previous experience working on commercial or industrial construction projects.
  • Proficiency in English; additional language skills are considered a plus.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
