Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accountant specializing in Corporate Finance to join our dynamic team in Kinshasa. This pivotal role is essential for maintaining the integrity of our financial records, ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards, and providing critical financial insights to support strategic decision-making within our Corporate Banking division. The Corporate Finance Accountant will be instrumental in managing complex financial transactions, preparing detailed financial reports, and analyzing financial performance for our corporate clientele. This position requires a professional who possesses a deep understanding of corporate finance principles, strong analytical abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the accounting entries for complex corporate finance transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS and local regulations.
- Prepare comprehensive financial statements, reports, and analyses specific to the corporate finance portfolio, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Conduct thorough financial analysis to support strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting for corporate banking initiatives.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and other financial records regularly to ensure data integrity.
- Assist in the preparation for internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and providing insightful commentary to management.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of regulatory reports to the Central Bank of Congo and other relevant authorities.
- Collaborate with corporate banking officers and credit analysts to understand client-specific financial structures and ensure proper accounting treatment.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in corporate accounting or financial analysis, preferably within the banking or financial services industry
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and local accounting principles (OHADA)
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel (advanced level)
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a demanding environment
- Fluent in French and English, both written and verbal
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Master’s degree in Finance or Business Administration
- Experience with core banking systems (e.g., Temenos T24)
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines
