Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Oil and Gas Engineer with a specialization in Upstream and Exploration activities to join our dynamic team in Port Harcourt, Rivers. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in identifying, evaluating, and developing hydrocarbon reserves, contributing to the foundational stages of our energy projects. The successful candidate will be involved in a broad spectrum of engineering tasks, including but not limited to, geological data interpretation, reservoir characterization, well planning, drilling support, and production optimization strategies for new and existing assets.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive geological and geophysical data interpretation to identify potential hydrocarbon traps and evaluate reservoir properties.
- Perform detailed reservoir characterization studies, including static and dynamic modeling, to understand fluid flow and optimize recovery.
- Develop and evaluate well proposals, including well trajectory design, casing programs, and completion strategies.
- Provide engineering support during drilling operations, including real-time data analysis, problem-solving, and ensuring operational efficiency.
- Contribute to the development of field development plans, economic evaluations, and risk assessments for exploration and appraisal projects.
- Utilize advanced reservoir simulation software (e.g., Petrel, Eclipse, IPM) to forecast reservoir performance and evaluate development scenarios.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams (geologists, petrophysicists, drilling and production engineers) to integrate subsurface and surface engineering designs.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and participate in peer reviews to communicate findings and recommendations.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in upstream engineering and exploration.
- Adhere strictly to Halliburton's safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures in all operational aspects.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in upstream oil and gas engineering or exploration.
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Proficiency in reservoir engineering principles and practices.
- Strong understanding of geological and geophysical data interpretation.
- Experience with reservoir simulation software (e.g., Petrel, Eclipse, IPM, CMG).
- Familiarity with well design, drilling operations, and completion technologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline.
- Professional engineering license or certification (e.g., COREN).
