Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Cultivate and maintain strong, positive relationships with existing customers within an assigned sales territory.
  • Proactively identify and pursue new sales opportunities, expanding product distribution and market share.
  • Execute promotional programs and merchandising standards to ensure optimal product placement and visibility.
  • Manage inventory levels and ensure proper rotation of products to minimize waste and maximize freshness.
  • Present new products and initiatives to customers, educating them on features and benefits.
  • Negotiate pricing, promotions, and placement agreements in line with company guidelines.
  • Monitor competitive activity and market trends, providing valuable feedback to management.
  • Accurately process orders, manage delivery schedules, and resolve customer issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Achieve assigned sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) on a consistent basis.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and market insights.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of sales or customer service experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Demonstrated negotiation and persuasion abilities.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Previous sales experience in the beverage, food service, or consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry.
  • Familiarity with the Bangor, ME market and local businesses.
  • Experience with handheld sales devices or CRM software.
